  • Recharging my mental battery

Today is what I needed. I went to go see my parents. I love going to see them as they’re literally the best. They raised me to be who I am and not care about what people think about me. They set a blueprint that was hard growing up with sometimes but the mockery at school was only a few years. Each time I go visit my Mum and Dad I always go for a walk. It’s a big walk which takes me 25 minutes to get to the beach and then I sit there and record the sounds and ambience for the days I can’t get there. I’m always armed with binoculars, my camera and my audio recorder.

I love the solitude of it all. I do usually bump into people at some point and it’s nice because a little nod and a “hello” is always nice. After all, we’re there for the same purpose.

It was so nice to sit and meditate whilst on the beach. The sounds and the sensations just do something to me. I am an out and proud hippy and I don’t care. I’ve been doing this walk for years but the last two times I’ve done it, I’ve seen a few naturists. They’re like buses, never see one and then three come along all at once. No judgment from me.

I also recorded a podcast. I’ll upload it soon, when I work out how to self host it.

  • excited for tomorrow

I’m very excited about tomorrow as I get to visit my parents. I don’t get to see them as much as I would like because I don’t drive and I need to get a bus to see them. The bus is like an hour and forty which is a big chunk of time , meaning that I can’t go see them before or after work. I love catching up with them as we chat and all that.

I’m also excited because I get to visit my other happy place. A walk I like to do whenever I get the chance. I just love it. I take my binoculars, my camera and my audio recorder too. I want to capture as much of it as I can because it’s nice to be able to visit it with imagination. It’s by the sea so I get a lot of recordings of the sea and the way the sea is.

It’s also the place where my “podcasting tree” is. I like to sit in the same tree and record my podcast. I have recently been very down on it but I am warming more up to the idea of doing it again. I’ve been looking.into the IndieWeb and it’s giving me a lot to think about. It reminds me of how the internet used to be before people tried to milk it for money. I think that ethos is what is going to keep me going as a creator of boring shit that no one cares about.
